As the height of the installed line is raised above the ground level,
there will be an increased control area each side of the line.

The line must be kept taut but not pulled tight between two or more fixing points. Avoid twisting line. And avoid line contact with objects which will cause chafing and friction wear.

BOAT PROTECTION FROM DROPPINGS

Bird humming line is effective up to 15' either side of line. For best effect arrange some lines at cross angles to wind. Plastic coated hooks are good end fasteners.

YACHTS

Secure line to Forestay approximately 3' above deck. Stretch line taut to Shrouds and backstay.

POWER CRAFT

Stretch line between two or more accessible points

AGRICULTURAL  BIRD PROTECTION

Low Crops

Secure taut line 24" above ground, either above plants or between rows. Secure stakes should be not less than 5' apart. Line is effective up to 15' on either side. This allows up to 30' between parallel lines (depending on crop and bird pressure). Lines could be raised as crops grow.

BUSHES TREES AND VINES

The line should be set as near as possible to the buds or fruit. The fixing distances is like those indicated for low crops. For tall orchard trees it may be necessary to install line by attaching to a "may pole" and securing in the ground. Lines set at different angles and heights give the best effect. Ensure that lines are taut and NOT TWISTED.
